Update: Thyroid Specialist
Ok so today I finally had my appointment with the Ear, Nose, & Throat Doctor. Well first off he probed me!! He had this device about 1 foot long, very skinny, & with a light at the end. Well...he stuck it down my nose!! It was awful. My mom had to actually leave the room. He first sprayed my nose with Afrin and "numbing" medication. Well it didn't numb it at all. Then he tells me it doesn't hurt it just feels weird...it hurt like a bitch! Anyway on to the thyroid. He doesn't know why I'm talking the Synthroid because that is for under active thyroids and mine is overactive! So he downed my dose from 50 mcg's to 25 mcg's. He said it could be doing more harm than good. Ugh...apparently some Doctor's don't know anything! So I'll go back in about 6 weeks for more blood work and I might not even have to be taking the medication!!

OMG! Rach!!! That nose probe sounds AWFUL. I'm so sorry you poor thing. I can't believe your other doc had you on meds for an underactive thyroid. I hope they can find a definite answer after this next round of bloodwork. Man you have been through the ringer. I really hope they help you so you can start feeling better hon.

I've had the nose prob too. It is awful! That's horrible they had you on the wrong meds. Why'd he leave you on it at all then? I hope you get your answers and it all taken care of at the next appt! Thanks for the update. I've been wondering about you!
I can NOT believe that they were giving you the wrong meds!! What he hell is wrong with people?! They are freakin' doctors for crying out loud. Wow. I'm sorry babe. ((hugs))
