So the past 2 days I guess Josh has been hitting the little girl at Daycare. Jason kind of forgot to tell me! Men **sigh! So last night I ask Josh about the baby and he went "Ne nee!" holding his fist in the air (that is the sound effect he makes when he goes to hit). So I kept telling him that "We don't hit babies, we kiss and hug babies!" So I think he finally got it!!
Skip forward to a few hours ago and I asked Jason how Daycare went today? He said "He didn't hit the baby!" But....he tackled the little boy down!" Oh man...I think I have my hands full! I don't know how to explain this one to him because he doesn't know the words wrestle or tackle! Ugh...I can't wait until he learns how to talk more. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It's hard cuz at this age I don't think they understand the idea that they're hurting the other child. Hopefully your dc provider intervenes and makes him 'apologize' so to speak. When Hannah hits Collette, I make her say sorry and give her a hug. Sometimes she does it and immediately says sorry now and starts going for a hug before I can say anything. Bad, but funny! Maybe you can just talk to him about not hitting ANY of the other kids, and he'll 'get' that tackling that boy today was like hitting. IDK, it's hard to explain to them right now. GL!
Ok first, that "ne-nee" thing with his fist in the air is just too funny lol!
I do what Annette does, make C go over to M and say sorry and kiss her. I try to reinforce the word "gentle" over and over to C. And as I say it I touch her or a baby doll or whatever really lightly and nicely. I don't know... its just kind of a hard thing for them to get right now. Hope it gets better!
I think you got really good advice. Advice that *I'm* going to take because A.J doesn't share so we're struggling with that.
